Sailors must register for the Summer Race Team to participate.

What team should I sign up for?

If you have questions about which team is right for you, contact coaches.

There are a few requirements for each team, listed below:

• Laser Race Team: sailors must own their own Laser/ILCA dinghy to participate. Personal Lasers can be stored at our Swantown Marina dry storage lot for a monthly fee. Contact coaches for more info or scholarship opportunities if you do not have your own laser.

• c420 Race Team: sailors must attend the c420 Bootcamp prior to their first season in the boat - no exceptions. Advanced c420 sailors do not need to apply to Bootcamp. Bootcamp attendees will receive a discount on summer registration fees ($50 off full summer race team fee). NEW for c420s: sailors will charter out a c420 for a session/or the full summer as an individual skipper/crew.

• Opti Champs Team: sailors must have attended at least one Green Fleet regatta, and gotten the “go-ahead” from a coach before signing up for this team.

• Opti Green Team: for Opti level sailors who have advanced out of Camps and are exploring the idea of racing and joining Opti Champs someday!

• FJ/420 Development Team: Open to all sailors of all levels, including high school racers that want to continue training in the FJ or 420!
  
  
  
  

  Summer Race Team Sessions:

  Summer season is broken into Session 1 and 2 — each Session is a set number of practices and regattas. We hope sailors and families are able to consistently attend practices and regattas in whichever (or both sessions) that they choose based on their summer schedule. 

  Our goal is more concentrated attendance will help sailors progress skills, and help Coaches work with sailors on a regular basis with definitive way-points (regattas) to work towards together.

  Register for a single session, or the full summer?

  We encourage sailors who have competitive goals in the NW Youth Racing Circuit - like winning their overall class, etc. or intend on going to multiple regattas that span the summer, to register for the full summer.

  Costs:

  Please contact Coaches about payment plans or scholarships!

  • Per Session: $500

  • Full summer: $775 (both Sessions), if registering before June 1st ($50 off if you have registered for c420/Laser Bootcamp)

  Billing:

  Once registered via this form, families will receive an invoice from our Treasurer. Invoices must be completed before, or on June 1st to confirm one's spot. Or a payment plan / scholarship must be underway / confirmed by June 1st.

  Sailors who have registered for the c420 or Laser Bootcamp will receive a $50 discount towards Full Summer Race Team - must be registered for the Bootcamp when one registers for Summer Race Team so discount can be applied correctly.

  Refund Policy: Refunds will be given in full before the first day of practice. No refunds after the season starts, unless ED grants a pro-rate.
