High School Race Team Bootcamp
Bootcamps are two-week long classes during the summer season. Classes take students through the basics of learn to sail and introduce racing concepts to prepare sailors to join their High School Sailing Team. Students will learn how to rig sailboats, steer, trim sails, dock, the right of way rules, and basic racing maneuvers like roll tacking.
We are currently recruiting sailors from Capital, Olympia, and Black Hills High Schools. Any student in the 8th+ grade attending a local Thurston County high school is welcome to register!

2024 Team Tryouts
Team Tryouts are August 27-29, 2024
Coaches use tryouts to assess sailors’ ability and mindset and seed participants onto one of three teams: Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Sea-Team. Final team placement is based on a sailors’ skillset and maturity, and sailors from any High School can end up on any team.
The High School Sailing Bootcamp is designed for sailors in the 8th+ grade who are interested in joining their High School’s sailing team. The two-week bootcamp will take sailors through the basics of sailing and introduce racing topics, preparing sailors to join their school’s team at tryouts.
We are actively recruiting sailors from Capital High School, Olympia High School, and Black Hills High School, but sailors from any Olympia-area high school are welcome to join.
